This routine was choreographed by the ever-rocking Giantonio, who runs GianStudio in Northern California. He is putting on full display his usual mix of killer choreography (from a purely ‘dancing for fun’ standpoint) with killer fitness (from  ‘burn a ton of calories’ standpoint). That is pretty much a Giantonio staple right there!

Zumba Routine to Single Ladies By Beyonce Choreographed By Larissa From Colorado

Now, this is possibly the sassiest of all the sassy songs that was ever danced to in Zumba! Not only is it a really fun “girl power” anthem, though (as, let’s face it, most of Bey’s songs are!), it’s also a really fun and hip-shaking routine as choreographed by Larissa from Colorado.

This one incorporates a really fun Samba element on the chorus, as well as some awesome (thigh-friendly!) deep squats during the bridge. If you go all out during this routine, you are sure to work out those leg muscles – which is one of the main points of Zumba! It is a guaranteed “sore maker” – but it is well worth it, because when you are walking around with those toned and shapely thighs, looking all hot and sassy in a mini-skirt, you’re gonna say, “Thank you, Zumba! I couldn’t have done it without you!” :D

Zumba Routine To Prrrum – Choreographed By Savannah Katelyn Bailey

I have to say, the thing that I find the MOST compelling about this video is the amount of young men she has in her class – the entire front row is all guys! Go, Savannah!

For a fitness program that was started by a man in the first place, Zumba classes are very often quite estrogen-heavy environments. I applaud Savannah for attracting a more diverse crowd.

The choreography itself is high-energy and will definitely have you working up a sweat! There is some high-impact movement that could easily be modified, but there is also leveling so that – even with modifications – you will still burn a very healthy amount of calories.

Theresa Ahearn’s Amazing Zumba Weight Loss Success Story!

Theresa Ahearn never thought that she would be an athletic person when she weighed 267 pounds – but that was before she found Zumba!

After she discovered her love for Zumba, Theresa lost an astonishing 107 pounds! Amazing!

Of course, as illustrated by the pic below, healthy eating also played a big part in the transformation.

So how did it start?

Theresa began to really struggle with her weight, like a lot of us do, after she had her children. Although the kids were now grown, the weight issues remained. I know a lot of ladies that could relate to that!

Eating became a comforting, mindless activity. Theresa says, “I would eat mindlessly. I would pick at a lot of random foods through the day and then find myself cooking a lot of pasta, chicken Parm, pizza, pork chops and red meats. I ate a lot of white breads, potato chips, hot dogs, cheeseburgers — processed, carb-loaded foods.”

Of course, she did realize there was a problem – she tried Slim Fast, Weight Watchers, pills and crazy fad diets, low carb plans like Atkins and South Beach – however, none had lasting success.

The turning point came when Theresa’s youngest daughter came home for the summer. She had slimmed down over her first year at college and gotten very comfortable in the gym. She got a gym membership for her summer at home, and one day she asked Theresa to go with her.

That’s where Theresa saw (and heard) a Zumba class for the first time. Seeing her interest, her daughter offered to try the class with her. The next night, the two of them went to the class together.

Every other night that week, Theresa went back – even by herself! Three years and 107 pounds later, she’s still going. :) In the meantime, she’s also run a 5k and started mixing it up by adding weight training and kickboxing classes into her routine.

A couple of other things about this routine that make it great to modify for home use – it’s really easy to make it fit your fitness level by just adjusting how high impact you make the jumps, and the choreography is challenging enough to keep you interested while still remaining simple enough to follow along with the easily.

While it’s not overtly sexual, it is very SENSUAL. The whole thing feels like a mating ritual, in the sexiest way possible. I’m reminded of the scene in Empire Records when Corey is listening to the steamy song and dancing as she prepares Rex Manning’s lunch. Music and movement are big keys to making us feel like our sexiest selves!

So, hey – while I think you will have a lot of fun incorporating this routine into your home Zumba repertoire as a sexy cooldown – maybe you’ll just want to use it as a way to get you in the right frame of mind before a big night with your significant other! :D
